USC Hockey, Ending the MD Fund, more Memories...

USC Ice Hockey and the Thundering Herd would like to thank all who contributed at the "Mario Danelo Scholarship Fund Night" at Anaheim Ice on Saturday night. We were able to raise $753. This will be sent along with the Thundering Herd donation to the "Mario Danelo Endowed Football Scholarship Fund". Though it will be part of the Herd fund, it will be recognized as its own event "USC Ice Hockey/Thundering Herd Mario Danelo Night".

CLOSING DOWN THE MARIO DANELO FUND

We are closing it down on Monday after the mail comes in. If your check is not in the mail now and want to contribute, make it out to the "USC Athletic Department in care of the Mario Danelo Scholarship Fund" and mail to Don Winston, USC Athletic Department, 3501 Watt Way, Los Angeles, CA 90089-0602.

As it stands now, the Herd will be contributing $2000 including at least $250 from your Herd fund.

Congratulations on your response and generosity. I'm sure the Danelo family will be touched.

We never had the privilege to know Mario Danelo, but man, we saw his smile every time after he scored. He made everyone that he touched a better person and I cannot believe that he left us so soon. He had so much to give to his friends and family. If only he knew how many people he has affected. God Bless you Mario Danelo. You will always be in our hearts and prayers and for this, we live to remember you. Thank you for all that you have done and I only hope that you are in a better place. Watch over us in our dreams and direct us towards the better path in life, for you have led the best life anyone could live. You lived your "Dream." I only wish I can do the same by the time I make it to 21. Forever may you remain in our hearts. Rest In Peace, Mario. We love you and of course, FIGHT ON!
