Named after the famous USC National Championship teams of Howard Jones in the late 1920’s, the Thundering Herd makes the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum an intimidating place for the opponent.
"Let me say this, you guys from the very beginning, and I’ve probably said this before, but you Herd guys have always been there, and you guys are the real deal…and I’ll never forget what it felt like to have you guys doing what you were doing at a time when we weren’t a whole lot to care about. You’ve stayed so consistent over the time, you guys have brought so much love and so much fun to us just because you love your Trojans, love your team, love your school. Awesome. It really is great. I know who you are. I love that you’ve been here for us, you continue to jump up and do stuff, you guys are always welcome, always welcome to be a part of this, you guys deserve it, earn it, and we love to have you around. Thanks for coming out.".- Pete Carrol, after the Herd Cart Presentation, 08/06/2007
"The Pope decommits from Notre Dame. He will now join Pete Carroll at USC."- A frustrated Notre Dame fan rants after a disappointing day of recruiting by Charlie Weis, 02/07/2007
"Way back when, before anybody else believed in us these people back here did, the Herd did, They knew what we were all about, that we were something special, they have stayed with us, through all the changes and through all the years they have been here. They have been invited today because they are some of the folks behind it all, these guys are always here for us."- Pete Carroll, L.A. Coliseum private scrimmage 08/20/2006
"You guys (the Herd) are GREAT! You have inspired the entire Coliseum! Thanks for helping to bring back Trojan Spirit!"

Thanks for letting us know about the hockey, it was a very fun time.
Hey Tim,
Sorry I didn't know you were there, I would have like to say hello.
Fun time though wasn't it?

Yeah, apparently we left too soon. Looking at your site, the score was 14-4. We left at the end of the 2nd period. I guess that's what I get for not knowing Hockey. The Basketball game was awesome that day too minus the fact of losing to the Bruins.
Yep....the Men of Troy Hockey team started feasting on the Huskey defense in the last period. You weren't the only ones that left, I believe about half the people did not return.
Too bad. We got word that the coach would purchase the team a keg of beer if they scored 17. As the team got closer, the Herd started chanting...5 more goals!! 5 more goals....and so forth. The team enjoyed the chants.
