It is with a very heavy heart that I pass on to you the news of the recent passing of fellow San Diego Trojan, associate, Board Member, friend, mentor, SD Trojan icon and past President of the Trojan Club of San Diego, Mr. Don Clausen. Don 'Fought On' vs. brain cancer for these last few years and passed a week and a half ago. Many of you knew Don very well as he had been the 11th TCSD President, from 1990-1992, he had been such a valued Board member since the 80's, he initiated and ran our tremendous TCSD Luncheon program for 16 years, was the driving force behind helping to raise the funds for the TMB's newest uniforms, he also spearheaded the selling of the 'Bring It On ' button fundraiser when Coach Carroll was hired, and so much more.

Don gave his heart and soul to USC Athletics as a Booster for 4 decades and as you may know, no job was too large or non too small for Don. Don was the ultimate example of USC Trojan volunteerism at its best and he has truly left his mark on us, forever! Please see our home page on our web site at, as you'll enjoy a great picture of Don and Coach Carroll [Coaches Tour, Marina Marriott 2005] and while there click 'the Tribute to Don' and read and enjoy various SD Trojans reflections on their years with Don, and his never ending USC Trojan spirit !! "Fight On eternally Don !''

The Celebration of Don's life that he wanted us to have will be Sat. June 23, at Maderas Golf Club, in Poway, Ca. from 4 PM to approx. 6 PM . Don spent some time planning this service and asking several friends to speak and it will be a great day to share memories, stories and our love for a true friend. A cash bar will be there of course, at Don's request, and after the main service part, there will be some light refreshments to enjoy for those that would like to continue to visit. RSVP'S will be appreciated for planning purposes, so please call 858 430 3433 and please leave your name and number of people attending.

Don's wife Sally, and their 2 children, Scott and Carrie, have asked that in lieu of flowers, as an expression of your support, that if you so choose, a donation be made in Don's name to the:
