Email from the Trojan Volleyball Coach

Herdmembers and Trojan Fans:

Hi guys. I got this email from Coach Ferguson, the new head coach of the men's volleyball team. Coach Bill is a great guy and is busting his behind to get our volleyball program back on track to where we used to be. The team is getting better and it would be fun to see the greats of the past on the floor again. The corner started to turn last season and has continued to do so this year. It may not happen overnight, but I have a good feeling about the new regime. However, it just seems like every game in our conference is against a top 10 team... literally. And it has been tough going, but there have been signs like the three game sweep of Coach Scates and the Ruins or the big comeback win against Stanford.

This will be a great chance for you to check out the new digs for our Trojan basketball and volleyball teams and see some rockin' volleyball to boot. As in football, we also have a rich heritage in volleyball as well (The spikey hair of Steve Timmons, the wild mane and mustache of Celso Kalachi, the greatest hits from Brian "Poison" Ivie and the exciting play of Adam Johnson to name a few) and I know the coach and boys will appreciate the support from alums and fans of volleyball.

I'M IN and I hope to see you there too! I want to be able to say "I was there when the turn around began!"

Dear USC Volleyball Alumni & Friends,

I wanted to touch base with you regarding this year's alumni day.

We are thrilled to hold our first alumni day in the Galen Center and give everyone who played here a chance to play in the best facility in college athletics. As I have mentioned before, we are on for Saturday, March 10 at the Galen Center. We will have several exciting things going on. Below I have a brief schedule:

3pm - Alumni vs. Alumni (on the Galen Center floor in the arena)

5pm - Alumni vs. USC Varsity

7:30pm - Buffet dinner in the Founder's Room (COMPLIMENTARY food & drink)

Silent Auction (In Founder's Room beginning at 3pm; running throught the entirety of the event). Some of the items include:

• Spider Man III private screening Sony Pictures Studio
• 4, 30 yard line tickets for USC-UCLA football game
• 2 sets - Field passes, parking and Cardinal & Gold Picnic for football games TBA in October
• Autographed USC Footballs
• Sports Package of Lakers, Clippers & Angels
• Golf outing at Big Canyon
• Golf outing at LACC
• Golf Cart
• Customized sunglass package
• Official USC Volleyball Team Gear

The 3pm Alumni vs. Alumni match should be a good time. That will be 2-3 games. The Alumni vs. the USC Varsity will be a 3-5 game match and shoiuld ba a bit longer if these kids can keep up with all of you. The auction should be fantastic. Please pass this information to anyone who may be interested in attending and/or bidding on some auction items.

Lastly, I can't wait to show you the facility itself; including the locker room. It looks beautiful and pays tribute to all of our National Champions, Final Four teams, Olympians and Players of the Year.
